The first volume was very well done, but a bit depressing with all the bullying。 The follow-up has a more positive feel as Shoya tries to make amends。 Since both kids have changed schools there is a different cast of additional characters。

I really like the direction this story is taking so far。 I love these characters right now。 People can and do change for all sorts of reasons and I hope to see our main character continue to grow and become a better person。 And Shoko's sister? Shes pretty awesome。 Such a great dynamic。 I really like the direction this story is taking so far。 I love these characters right now。 People can and do change for all sorts of reasons and I hope to see our main character continue to grow and become a better person。 And Shoko's sister? How do you come back from hurting others? How do you forgive yourself? How do you say you say you are sorry? What do you do when you can't earn forgiveness? What is friendship? What is family? What do you owe them? This volume covers what comes after trauma and social isolation。It is frustrating as a well adjusted adult to read what happens in this series。 I want to reach out and help these children with these problems。 How do you come back from hurting others? It's nice how Shoyo wanted to apologize to Nishimaya。 Her mom didn't like him and I get it。 She didn't want her daughter to be around someone who bullied her。 What he did to her in the past was not cool but I would want to apologize to her to so I would let her talk to Shoyo。 It's nice how Shoyo wanted to apologize to Nishimaya。 Her mom didn't like him and I get it。 She didn't want her daughter to be around someone who bullied her。 What he did to her in the past was not cool but I would want to apologize to her to so I would let her talk to Shoyo。 。。。more

I appreciated the rep in this book。 I don't read many Manga and I think the things that didn't work for me had to do more with it being Manga than issues with the book。 I had a hard time telling certain side characters apart。 There is a bathtub thing that is probably only weird because I am an American。 I thought this book was fine but not a new favorite。 I appreciated the rep in this book。 I don't read many Manga and I think the things that didn't work for me had to do more with it being Manga than issues with the book。 I had a hard time telling certain side characters apart。 There is a bathtub thing that is probably only weird because I am an American。 I thought this book was fine but not a new favorite。 。。。more

En realidad no pensaba que fuese a ampliar mucho más la película, pero me estoy encontrando con una cantidad alucinante de matices; la profundidad de los personajes y de sus sentimientos me tiene abrumada。 Es que es precioso y sufro, I can’t-

"I think friendship is something deeper than the words and logic" This manga series is so fun and light-hearted to read about。 I like how our main character has realised his mistake from when he was a child and has decided to turn that around and go apologize。 Even though this is a fun series it does deal with some more mature content like bullying and suicidal thoughts but overall it is really fun to read。Shoya has defiantly improved in this volume and knows what he did was wrong。 He goes to S "I think friendship is something deeper than the words and logic" This manga series is so fun and light-hearted to read about。 I like how our main character has realised his mistake from when he was a child and has decided to turn that around and go apologize。 Even though this is a fun series it does deal with some more mature content like bullying and suicidal thoughts but overall it is really fun to read。Shoya has defiantly improved in this volume and knows what he did was wrong。 He goes to Shoko's school (which she transferred to after he bullied her) to go apologise and her younger sister is their to shoo him away。 In this volume we see a different side to Shoya。 We see how much he is also affected by the bullying he did to Shoko which drives him to nearly committing suicide。 Luckily, his mum and Shoko helped him with this but we can see that he regrets what he has done because it has also impacted his high school life as he has no friends。Shoko is probably my favourite character just because of how she is still really kind and sweet to Shoya even after what he did was awful for her。 We see this side of her more in volume 1。 I do think it is quite sad that she always apologies to people because she is aware how much her deafness can obstruct the daily lives of those around her。Yuzura is also one of my favourite characters because of her big sister instinct。 She is very protective of her older sister and will always stand up to her bully's and she is very much introverted。 We see that she is mistaken for a boy in this volume quite a lot due to her short hairstyle which her mother wanted Shoya to have。 I also love how she always has a camera on her even though she sometimes uses it for the wrong reasons。 。。。more

Shoyo’s interactions with almost everyone were frustrating, but understandably so。As Japanese culture tends to have an unhealthy fixation on shame, this volume seems to hint at development on how it affects individual mental health。 I really do hope this is further explored in the series。
